2016 complete email dating and contacts

I have spent two weeks trying to find the answer to this problem during which I've visited dozens of web pages but none seem to answer the questions. For some reason Microsoft seem to think that everyone is trying to sync with a Mac or a phone. On my second contact with them I spent an entire morning with the so called "helpline" during which I was transferred three times, each time being told I shouldn't have come to that site as it was the wrong one. This despite the fact it was the "helplines" that kept fobbing me off to someone else.It seems even Microsoft staff don't understand what needs to be done. I log on that using my microsoft passport with the address of *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and the password of 12345 (not the real pwd).I have an calendar on that pc which works fine that is also under the microsoft passport address.

This downloaded and apparently installed correctly on the desktop. The other programs in 365 (office 2016) work fine but Outlook is a complete waste of space as I cannot get the calendar to sync with either the calendar on the desktop or the windows 10 calendar on the laptop. The problem seems to be that Outlook 2016 has set itself up with a profile using another email address of *** Email address is removed for privacy *** and nothing I can do can change this to match the xxx.btinternet address the other calendars use.Going into FILE and Account information and changing the entry there to [email protected] makes no difference. It was after this that Microsoft hung up on me (after some hours) and never got back to me although they did have my number.

Neither does going into Account Settings and changing the default address to *** Email address is removed for privacy *** or deleting the *** Email address is removed for privacy *** address altogether. I have tried sending a share request from but although I sometimes get the email (I've tried several times) it does not contain an 'accept' button just a link that sends you to a web page that is 'not found'.

Under the guidance of the third helpline I was sent to last time I phoned, I went into the Control Panel Mail etc. There is an attachment on the 'offer to share' letter of an XML file which opens in dreamweaver and is nothing more than a stream of googledegook.
